Bring The Beautiful Rich Croatian Colour Palette Into Your home•
Posted on April 10 2019
After visiting Croatia last year, we now have this mild obsession with the colour palette of this country. Inspired by this we have added beautiful products to our collection which draws inspiration from the Croatian landscape and brings these beautiful rich tones into the home. It's true you can find inspiration anywhere and ours was found here in Croatia, with nature and the landscape through to the buildings and details of the window shutters and doors on the pretty stone houses.
As with most European countries they have the most wonderful shutters and Croatia is not short of them either. Shutters and doors, painted in rich hues of Emerald Green reflecting the lush landscape, a Deep Ocean blue reflecting the sea and the soft pale greys reflecting the pebbles and the rocky shoreline. With delicate walls and flowers in soft pastel pinks, it was just so pretty. Coupled with the dramatic landscape of the lush green hills dotted with lavender this glorious summer scent just lingers in the fresh air wherever you go.
The hills drop dramatically to meet the rich of the deep blue sea sparkling in the summer sun and colourful fishing boats are gently bobbing on the crystal sea. The pale stone-built houses and terracotta roofs peep out through the trees it was such a glorious sight.
Our kitchenware collection has inspired by a combination of all these colours. Our sorbet pink coffee mugs and our gorgeous green serving bowls to the platter plates or pink marble chopping board which we love to keep out on our shelves as there is no place for these hidden away in the cupboard.
We always try to get inspiration for our collections from lots of different places and especially from our travels. I know this sounds like a cliche, but it’s true and Croatia was really one of these inspiring places it just seemed to be one of these places that has the most wonderful magical colour palette and what is so lovely about it is the colour palette is brought through from nature into their buildings and I don't think I have ever seen this working so well anywhere I have been before.
I know we talk lots about colour palettes all over the world the colours of Morocco, and Italy alike and I know Italy has a wonderful colour of biscuit tones and pale pastel shades. However, I am not sure to this degree where the houses complement the landscape and vice versa. What truly is remarkable is the whole consistency from the mainland of Dubrovnik and Split to the islands of Korcula and Hvar they all carry a similar theme but are all have their own individual identity. If there is one place to put on your destination wish list I would definitely include Croatia
